Overview
Groovy Beans needed a cornerstone apparel piece to kick off their branded merchandise. The goal was to create a design that felt aligned with their personality—warm, approachable, and slightly nostalgic—while also being strong enough to define their visual direction moving forward.
The illustration draws from 70s-inspired graphic styles, using bold shapes and a playful tone to reflect the shop’s friendly, community-focused environment.

Approach
I worked directly with Groovy Beans to develop a concept that could extend beyond a single shirt. The design process focused on creating a flexible visual system rather than a one-off graphic.
The final artwork was designed for adaptability across multiple uses, including apparel, tote bags, cup sleeves, and environmental graphics. This ensured the design could support a consistent brand experience across different customer touchpoints.
Outcome
The final design was used as the first official merchandise piece for Groovy Beans, establishing a foundation for their branded apparel line.
The shirt acts as a core visual asset that can be expanded into other formats, helping unify their branding across physical products and in-store applications.
